Lost Canyon
This week I decided to experiment with carbon black as a way to get some high value effects where I might leave things flatter or muted in part. You should be drawn to the dark cliffs in the foreground and canyon in the middle ground. I used a lot of water on the front or lower half of the painting to let the colors that were there bleed and run naturally. I wanted the distance to look like mountains and elevation that made you search out the details. I left the sky muted just some fluorescent blue diluted with titatnium white acrylic paints. I received a lot of feedback on this one I really didn't;t expect. I hope you like it too!
