I have been wanting to paint and use my soft pastels, so I flipped through my reference photos discovering an interest in old water towers. I chose a couple to paint. They are of the towers in San Jon, New Mexico and Marfa, Texas. Places I enjoy visiting with great memories, each deserving a representative landscape painting that I hope to produce.

Using my Senenelier 100-pastel landscape set on 11in. x 14 in. UART 400 board I competed the San Jon, NM painting, this the first in the 3-part series. I also started on the Ralson, OK painting using the same materials.
