I used a lot of water to saturate this 15” X 22” size of mixed media paper and let the black color flow loosely on the horizontal surface. I feel like this contemporary piece could be matted into several smaller pieces picked by the owner and framed to make a beautiful statement. It has a lot of great parts and stands alone as a single piece also.
This piece is sold unmated and unframed. Shipping is simple as it could be rolled up in a heavy-duty tube and mailed. This piece was painted with a lot of water dilution of the acrylics and markers and that media leaves the paper with some inherent minor warping and unevenness. It is hard to accomplish the same bright intensity and creativity without using water and a paper that has not been gessoed.
