I have been wanting to paint and use my soft pastels if possible so I flipped through my reference photos discovering an interest in old water towers. I chose three to paint. They are San Jon, New Mexico; Ralston, Oklahoma; and Marfa, Texas. All places I enjoy visiting with great memories, each deserving a representative landscape painting that I hope to produce.

Using my Senenelier 100-pastel landscape set on 11in. x 14 in. UART 400 board I competed the San Jon, NM painting, this the first in the 3-part series. I also started on the Ralson, OK painting using the same materials.
